This trace element involved in the formation of connective tissue structures of proteins - collagen and elastin, which are structural components of bone and cartilage tissue, skin, lung, blood vessel walls. Therefore, copper deficiency can lead to the formation of an aneurysm of the aorta and of the cerebral vessels. For the same reason, copper deficiency leads to demineralization of bone and osteoporosis. In addition, copper plays an important role in the biosynthesis of a gene and hemoglobin.
